THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Honorable J. Dennis Hastert
Chairman
Korean War 60th Anniversary Project Committee
5215 Old Orchard Road, Ste. 740
Skokie, IL 60077
Dear Chairman Hastert:
Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on your chairmanship of the Korean War 60th Anniversary Project Committee.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. is proud of our nation's Korean War veterans. They fought to protect a free people in a democratic country most had never known. Their service helped to lay the foundation for a modern-day Korea that has flourished economically, politically and technologically over the past 59 years. And their sacrifice is not forgotten by the South Korean people, which is why the Republic of Korea remains one of our strongest global allies.
I am grateful that the Korean War 60th Anniversary Project Committee will visit with Korean War veterans in all 16 participating nations. It will go far to remind those who served—and their families—that a free nation has not forgotten.
Congratulations again. The VFW stands ready to assist in this worthwhile endeavor.
Warmest Regards,
ROBERT E. WALLACE
Executive Director
