Honorable J. Dennis Hastert, Chairman
Korean War 60th Anniversary Project Committee 5215 Old Orchard Road, Ste. 740 Skokie, IL 60077
Dear Honorable Hastert,
It is my distinct honor and pleasure to offer my congratulations to you on your assuming the chairmanship of the Korean War 60 Anniversary Project Committee. The stated purposes of the committee, as well as the noble plans that you intend to carry out, are indeed admirable, and will be remembered by all of the Korean War veterans and their families for a long time to come.
The Korean War veterans belong to a very special group of veterans who have oftentimes been overlooked or forgotten. The incredible numbers of soldiers sacrificed in the Korean War clearly warrants remembrance and tribute. Their service to their country, as well as to the defense of the democratic principles upon which the Republic of Korea was founded, is precious and noteworthy. Today's Korea stands in stark contrast to the war-torn Korea of 59 years ago, giving credence to the worthiness of the cause for which the Korean War veterans fought.
I would like to personally extend my appreciation and support for the great undertaking of the Korean War 60th Anniversary Project Committee. Under your leadership, I am confident that the remaining Korean War veterans and their families will be greatly uplifted and comforted.
God Bless you,

Byung (Paul) Lee
President, Korean War Veterans Association of Washington D.C.
