Mr. Chairman,

It is a great pleasure to welcome to Greece the "Little Angels Children's Folk Ballet" of Korea, on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary commemorating the Korean War, and I wish to convey to the Anniversary Memorial Committee, on behalf of all the Hellenes, my deepest sentiments of respect for the sacrifice of those who served in this war.

We, Greeks, nurture a particular sensitivity to such historical moments, and this initiative to perform all over the sixteen nations who participated, is a wonderful opportunity for all the veterans, their families and friends, to remember and share their glorious past.

I strongly believe that the Little Angels' project will further enhance the historical bonds already existing among the UN member states involved and serve as a symbol of peace and freedom in today's world.
